Getting Started

Welcome to lnkky.

This will be a quick start guide on how to create a personalized page that you can share.

If you don't have an account, you can create one here.

The URLs ( that lnkky generates are based on two things, pages and links.

Pages act as templates that, when inserted with personalized data, form a unique personalized URL.

Links are assigned to Pages and add data which results in these unique URLs. If multiple Pages are selected, Links will automatically perform A/B testing.

New Page

Head to the Pages section and hit New page, for the name enter something like page-2.

You will then be presented with the edit screen for that newly created page:

This is split into three parts:

  • Page settings - general settings for this page, such as the internal name (which only you can see)
  • Template settings - Here you can modify the settings for your selected template type
  • Preview screen - On the right side we can see a live preview screen

To help you get started lnkky provides some defaults for your chosen template.

In the image we can see the default values for the Basic personalized message template type. This is a simple page which displays a message and a button which, when clicked, redirects the user to another page.

If we take a look at the Header title and Message settings we notice some {name} words.

These act as placeholders which will be replaced when data is provided (described later in New link).

We can see that on the page preview the {name} placeholder was replaced by an actual name. This happened because Preview with random data is turned on by default. This replaces all placeholder values with random words. If we toggle that off {name} will appear as normal text.

Now with our template page let's proceed to creating a Link.

Similar to when we created a page. Head to the Links section and hit New link, for the name enter something like link-2.

The Link edit screen is split into three parts:

  • General - general settings for this Link, such as the internal name (which only you can see)
  • Pages - Here you can select which pages should be shown when viewing visiting this Link. If more than one is selcted, automatic A/B testing is performed
  • Data - Every row in this table represents a unique URL, which when visited will show your selected template page with the provided data

Select a page

First let's select a page. We'll be selecting the page we just created page-2:

Then hit the Save changes button so our selection is saved. Now that we have a page let's add some data, which the link will display.

Add data

Hit the Add button to create a new data entry. You should see an edit screen like this:

We can see another table called Properties.

Remember how in the Page we set had a placeholder {name}? Here we can add what that placeholder should be replaced with. Since we specified name as a placeholder let's create a new propery with name and a value of John.

You can also click Autofill which will find all placeholders in your selected pages and add them as properties. In this example it would add a name property with an empty value.

Then hit Save to apply the changes.

We will now see a new row in the data table:

Let's open that link:

Now we have a unique URL that leads to our selected Page which is populated with our Data.

If you wanted to create additional URLs you can keep adding new Data rows and editing the properties to match what you want to display.
